We all know the worldwide hitrecord "My Elusive Dreams" sung by David Houston and Tammy Wynette on Epic Records. In 1975 another version of the song was released on the K-Tel label: David Housten was the male-voice, but who sung with him? It was definitely not the wellknown voice ofTammy Wynette and as far as I know Barbara Mandrell didn't ever sung this song together with David. Does anybody know who it could be? A one minute soundexample can be heard here: www.tunescoop.com/play/323336363330/sample-david-housten-mp3

According to Wikipedia, the 1967 release of "My Elusive Dreams" was recorded with Tammy Wynette. The 1975 K-Tel version on Amazon is Tammy Wynette. What K-tel and most companies like them tend do is take the original recordings and re-release them. Kind of a ploy to make more money off the hit song. K-tel is really another distrubution company of previously recorded music. You are right when it comes to duets with Barbara Mandrell. The two of them did quite a collection of other songs. None of which are "My Elusive Dreams."

On Amazon they probably used the Tammy Wynette version in stead of the real version that's on the K-Tel LP. Please take the time to listen to version on this CD (Artists Direct): www.artistdirect.com/nad/window/media/page/0,,69836-1088904,00.html It's definitely not Tammy Wynette who's singing together with Davis Houston! I compared te voice with earlier and later songs of Tammy (I do have all her recordings). I'm just anxious to know who it can be.

It is Tammy Wynette. There is no way that K-Tel would substitute another entertainer. Because they are a distrubution company, K-tel will only release original recordings.
