Singer-songwriter Jaden Hamilton drops new song “Bad Spot” today. Written by Casey Beathard and produced by Matthew McVaney, the song follows Hamilton’s Ain’t That Something EP released last fall.
“I’ve always admired Casey Beathard’s songwriting. He’s written hits for some of my favorite artists like Eric Church, Kenny Chesney and George Strait, so it’s really an honor to be able to record one of his songs, especially a solo write,” said Hamilton. “‘Bad Spot’ is about meeting the right person at the wrong time, and second chances – which I think everyone deserves a second chance. It’s a story a lot of people have lived and can relate to.”
A native of Prairieville, Louisiana, Hamilton was raised on a homestyle mix of classic country and hard rock, and surrounded by the same sugarcane fields and tread-marked dirt roads heard in his lyrics. They were the backdrops to his earliest TikTok clips, where he has established a highly engaged digital audience and over 365,000 followers on the platform to date. After two weeks enrolled at Louisiana State University, and faced with a decision to either finish college or accept an invitation from a pop producer to move to L.A., the “very promising” (MusicRow ) singer went with option three and relocated to Nashville, Tennessee. Hamilton, whose music is inspired by the authenticity and neo-traditional style of George Strait and Cody Johnson, was deemed “someone worth watching” by Billboard and “a modern-day cowboy with a fresh vibe” who “has what it takes to be a country music star" by Country Sway.
