12.12.2020 - Irlene Mandrell was heartbroken to hear of the death of her friend beloved country icon Charley Pride today (12/12). Pride died today at age 86 due to complications from COVID-19. Irlene said, "We've lost a lot of people that I have dearly loved over the last few months, but he was such a wonderful man, such a great storyteller. He was such a wonderful, wonderful person. We were blessed to have him." About Irlene Mandrell: Irlene Mandrell is the youngest of the world famous Mandrell sisters. Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters aired on NBC and in the UK, with over 40 million viewers. Irlene has received numerous awards including two Music City News Comedy Act of the Year and most recently received the Swift Award for women in Film, she also holds a NACMAI Award and her own star on the Country Music Walkway of Stars. Mandrell appeared on numerous television shows like The Tonight Show, The Oprah Winfrey Show and starred in the historical Country variety series Hee Haw with Roy Clark, Minnie Pearl and Buck Owens for its last eight years.
