Country music star and philanthropist, Tracy Lawrence, celebrated the 15th anniversary of his highly touted Mission:Possible Turkey Fry and Streaming Benefit Concert on November 24th. This year's event had its share of obstacles due to the current COVID-19 health crisis but even with many hurdles, still proved to be a resounding success topping last year's fundraising efforts by bringing in $125,000 from generous donations and proceeds from this year's online auction which will be given to Nashville Rescue Mission. The team of volunteers fried over 500 turkeys which provided more than 3,000 meals to individuals and families in need.
“Every year I’m floored how people consistently help us outperform the previous year to serve more meals and raise more money for the homeless and hungry. Honestly, we didn’t expect much this year with the pandemic so to have a record-breaking year in raising more money for people that need it more than ever, I’m just blown away!†says Lawrence.
This year's event marked another special milestone for Lawrence by having November 24th declared "Tracy Lawrence Day" by Governor Bill Lee. Lawrence was presented with the honor by Chris Young at the benefit concert and is a testament to his longstanding commitment to helping the homeless community of middle Tennessee and beyond. The free virtual livestream benefit concert also featured some of Country music's best including Young, Tim McGraw, Cole Swindell, John Rich, Mitchell Tenpenny and more.
