Two worlds come together in Nashville over the Cinco de Mayo weekend as Stephanie Urbina Jones and the Honky Tonk Mariachi bridge what Nashville is best known for -- classic country music -- with the joy-filled sounds of mariachi. Jones will kick off the weekend with a performance at Plaza Mariachi on Saturday, May 4  from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., followed by a show in Fisher, TX on Sunday, May 5 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the infamous honky tonk, Devil's Backbone. She will return to the Grand Ole Opry stage with her Honky Tonk Mariachi on Tuesday, May 7.  Â

Jones' latest studio album, Tularosa, is an inspired marriage of country classics and mariachi rhythms named for the place where it was recorded. Tularosa honors Urbina Jones’ musical icons — a striing of legends from Dolly, Patsy, Willie, and Merle to Johnny and June — and the Mexican heritage that feeds her sound and soul.

Urbina Jones, a San Antonio native, is well-known for celebrating her Hispanic heritage through her music, which can be described as Latin-rooted Americana, or “Texicana country folk-rock.”Â
